What Circule Casteau knows about you, who can see it, and for how long.
Who is responsible
Guillaume Chasse (CAOUA), Mons, Hainaut, Belgique, is the controller of this pilot. Any question about your data: guillaume@caoua.be.
What is collected
Your email address, which is the only thing required: it is how you sign in, since there is no password.
Optionally your first name and your phone number. The phone number is only ever shown if you switch it on yourself.
The address of a listing, and the position it gives. Your listings, your reservations and the photos you attach to them.
Basis: running the service you asked for. For the waiting list outside the area, your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who sees your address
Never the public. The map shows a circle of about 200 m, and that blurring is stable from one visit to the next so that it cannot be undone by averaging.
The exact address appears inside the app only, to the one person who has reserved, and only for as long as the reservation lasts. It disappears on collection, on cancellation and on a no-show.
It never goes out by email. Every disclosure is written to an audit log.
A photo taken on a phone carries the GPS coordinates of where it was shot. Every image is stripped of its metadata before it is stored, on the browser and again on the server.
How long it is kept
An account with no activity and no live listing is anonymised automatically after 24 months. Nothing is left that names you; the tonnage stays, without you.
Backups are encrypted and fourteen rolling days are kept. The audit log is kept for twenty-four months.
An address left on the waiting list is deleted after 18 months if the service has not opened where you live.
What you can do
Export everything Circule holds about you, and delete your account, both from your account page, at any time, without asking anyone.
You may also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
Cookies and measurement
There is no analytics, no tracker and no third party script that watches you. Two cookies exist: the one that keeps you signed in, and the one that remembers your language. Both are strictly necessary, which is why this site asks you to accept nothing.
